ZIP-PAK OPENS FIRST CHINA OFFICE IN SHANGHAI

SHANGHAI. CHINAZip-Pak, a global leader in resealable packaging technology, today announced the official opening of its first China office in Shanghai. The company also launched its new Chinese language website, http://www.zippak.com/about-zip-pak/locations/ to provide local customers with easy access to information on Zip-Pak’s products and services. Bolstered by a booming Chinese economy and an increasing demand for high-quality products, this new office significantly strengthens Zip-Pak’s capabilities to tailor innovative packaging solutions for emerging markets in Asia. In addition to the Chinese office, Zip-Pak also has sales and customer locations in Japan and Australia to strategically meet the region’s critical needs.

Located in the Shanghai Hongqiao Development Zone, one of China’s top investment hubs, Zip-Pak’s China office will enable converters and brand owners to have quick and convenient access to local sales support. Robert Hogan, Director of International Sales and Marketing for Zip-Pak, noted, “The opening of Zip-Pak’s new China office is very much on track with the company’s global expansion plans. Shanghai is effectively linked with the rest of Greater China and the international community as a strategic business hub. This gives Zip-Pak optimum network coverage to reach the owners of established local and foreign brands across the region.”

Tracy Wang has been appointed Market Development Manager to oversee customer service and sales in the new office. Wang is primarily responsible for developing growth strategies across the Greater China territories, driving sales and marketing, and managing key accounts. Prior to joining Zip-Pak, Wang led a marketing team at Markem (Shanghai) and successfully grew the company’s laser coder business by 50%. She has an MBA from DongBei University of Finance and Economics, and carries with her over a decade of experience operating new businesses in foreign markets. Tracy is fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese languages.

“Zip-Pak is committed and now well poised to bring our global expertise and quality innovations to local enterprises,” added Hogan. “Research has shown that an overwhelming number of consumers prefer flexible packages with resealable closures that have the consistent ability to keep contents fresh and secure. We have also observed that Chinese businesses are ready to create unique, differentiated product packaging that contributes to sustainable brand recall and that offers end-users maximum convenience. And with Tracy managing our operations here, I am confident we have a good start towards realizing these objectives and serving our customers’ needs well across this region.”
