Loma Systems, An ITW Company (NYSE: ITW), is pleased to announce the introduction of a new “QuickShip” program intended to cut shipping times on a wide variety of its most popular sizes and configurations of metal detector systems. By working closely with its vendors, Loma is now able to offer its most popular sizes of IQ3 and IQ3+ metal detector heads, IQ3+ PipeLine metal detectors for pumped products, and IQ2 FreeFall metal detectors for gravity fed products with lead times of ONE WEEK OR LESS and certain conveyorized systems in THREE WEEKS OR LESS.
Beginning April 1, Loma will begin offering 21 sizes and configurations of the award winning IQ3 and IQ3+ metal detector head as either a head only with a one week lead time or as a conveyorized system with a two week lead time. The IQ3 features variable frequency technology that allows it to be adapted to a variety of products without complicated tuning procedures. It is available with an optional touchscreen display as the IQ3+. Both versions are IP69K rated, and are available in either standard or “harsh” versions designed to resist thermal shock.
The IQ3+ PipeLine metal detector is available in 2”, 2.5”, 3” and 4” variants. The IQ3+ PipeLine is designed for the inspection of pumped products, such as ground meats, doughs, sauces, slurries, and other liquid or semi-liquid products. The IQ3+ PipeLine is IP69K rated for washdown environments, and features the award winning IQ3+ variable frequency metal detection head. The IQ3+ PipeLine can be ordered with or without a reject valve, as well as with Tri-Clamp fittings or RD80 threads (2.5” version only).
Finally, Loma will begin offering The IQ2 FreeFall in 4” and 6” versions for the inspection of gravity fed products with lead times of one week or less. The IQ2 FreeFall is used for the inspection of dry, bulk powders such as flour, grain, sugar, and other freefalling products. The IQ2 FreeFall features Loma’s recently introduced “Global” display that features seven built in languages, 100 product memories, and a simplified map structure for easy navigation or it can be ordered with the IQ+ touchscreen display.
The IQ+ touchscreen display that is used on the IQ3+, IQ3+ PipeLine, and IQ+ FreeFall features numerous features designed to simplify operation, enhance performance, and improve the reporting capabilities of the equipment on which it is installed. The intuitive, full color display is IP69K rated for washdown applications and comes with an impact resistant polycarbonate cover for protection against impacts. The IQ+ display also feautres integral communications that allow it to be connected to a plant’s existing network infrastructure via Ethernet or download reports to a thumbdrive via external USB port. These reporting features and the data that is recorded is compliant with the recently enacted Food Safety Modernization Act. At the 2011 AMI Expo (April 13-16 at McCormick Place in Chicago), Loma will be displaying the IQ3+ PipeLine as well as the newly redesigned LCW Combo checkweigher featuring an IQ3 metal detector, and the X4-300 x-ray system.
