Norwood Marking Systems Celebrates 50 Years of Innovation

March 16, 2010 – Norwood Marking Systems announces the celebration of its 50th anniversary. Since Eugene Norwood established the company in 1960, Norwood Marking Systems has built an outstanding reputation. It is recognized worldwide for high-quality thermal transfer and hot stamp printing equipment.

Norwood’s technology leadership began with the introduction of the world’s first hot stamp imprinter for the food industry. Today, the company designs and manufactures a range of thermal transfer printers and hot stamp printers for coding and marking a wide variety of packages containing foods, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, medical devices, chemicals, tobacco and other products.

“When Eugene Norwood founded the business 50 years ago, his vision was that package coding could be used to isolate product problems and minimize loss. It was a new idea at the time,” explained Larry Kulik, General Manager of Norwood Marking Systems. “Of course, the benefits of package coding are now well accepted and the technology is widely adopted.
